Suns 99, Cavaliers 90: Markieff Morris scored 27 points and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds as visiting Phoenix used a dominant third quarter to overcome an 18-point halftime deficit and roar past Cleveland.

Channing Frye added 16 points, including 4-of-7 3-pointers for the Suns, who have won three of their last four games. Goran Dragic contributed 15 points and seven assists and P.J. Tucker had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Phoenix, which controlled the boards 50-43.

Kyrie Irving's 24 points and nine assists paced the offense for the Cavaliers, who have lost three of their last four and fell under .500 in the new year. Luol Deng turned in an 18-point, 10-rebound performance and Tristan Thompson went for 17 points and a team-high 13 boards for Cleveland, which shot 39.5 percent.

The Cavaliers took control of the game early, building a 29-22 advantage after the opening quarter, led by seven points from C.J. Miles. Cleveland used a 12-2 spurt midway through the second to pull ahead 51-35 en route to a 61-43 lead at halftime, led by 13 points and seven assists from Irving.

The Suns got a spark after the break from Frye, who drained three consecutive 3-pointers to kick off a 25-6 third quarter that pushed Phoenix ahead 68-67 as the Cavaliers shot 2-for-20 in the frame. The Suns' surge continued with a 13-3 run to start the fourth that included a combined eight points from the Morris brothers, highlighted by a statement alley-oop from Marcus to Markieff, and Cleveland never recovered.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Suns tied franchise records for least points allowed (six) and field goals allowed (two) in the third quarter. ... Cleveland has lost four straight games against Phoenix. ... Markieff Morris notched his sixth straight game with 10 or more points to set a career-long streak.
