Suns 117, Nuggets 103: Channing Frye scored a season-high 30 points on 12-of-16 shooting as host Phoenix slipped past Denver.

Markieff Morris added 16 points and Goran Dragic scored 15 as the Suns defeated the Nuggets for the third time this season. Leandro Barbosa added 13 points and P.J. Tucker collected nine rebounds.

Anthony Randolph scored a season-best 19 points for Denver, which lost for the third time in four games. Ty Lawson had 17 points and 14 assists while Wilson Chandler and Evan Fournier also scored 17 points.

Phoenix took a five-point lead into the final quarter and used a 7-0 run, capped by Marcus Morris’ three-point play, to take a 98-86 lead with 7:16 to play. The Nuggets were never able to make a sustained late-game push while dropping to 9-11 on the road.

Frye had 18 points in the first half to help the Suns to a 62-56 lead at the break. He added seven more points in the third quarter while Denver struggled with 8-of-26 shooting in the stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Frye made five 3-pointers and fell three points shy of matching his career high. … Nuggets C J.J. Hickson had 14 points and 13 rebounds and has reached double digits on the boards in six straight games. … Phoenix improves to 4-6 since losing G Eric Bledsoe to a knee injury.
