Danny Green went 7-for-7 from the field, including 5-of-5 from beyond the arc, en route to 22 points off the bench as visiting San Antonio held off Dallas.

Tim Duncan collected 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who avoided back-to-back losses for the first time this season. Tony Parker scored 23 points and went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the final 26 seconds to put the game away for San Antonio.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points and Monta Ellis had 23 to lead the Mavericks. Vince Carter chipped in 20 points in a reserve role for Dallas while DeJuan Blair recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds against his former team.

The Spurs took a seven-point lead into the fourth quarter and stretched it out to 100-85 when Leonard found Parker for a jumper with 5:43 left. The Mavericks responded by scoring on their next eight possessions to slice the deficit to 106-103 with 2:17 to play before Green buried a 3-pointer and Duncan blocked a shot at the other end to halt the surge.

San Antonio led by as much as 12 points in the second quarter and took a 58-51 lead into the break behind Green’s 4-of-4 effort from the field in the opening half. The Spurs pushed the lead to 11 points on Tiago Splitter’s three-point play with 7:43 left in the third before Dallas came back to chop it to single digits.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Blair, who spent the previous four seasons with San Antonio, went 6-of-8 from the field in 23 minutes. … Mavericks F Brandan Wright (illness) sat out the game and is day-to-day. … Dallas has dropped two straight home games to fall to 11-4 in its own building.
