Damian Lillard hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 87 seconds left and finished with 29 points as Portland held off visiting New Orleans.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 18 points and eight rebounds and Wesley Matthews scored 18 for Portland, who bounced back from a rare loss to pick up its sixth win in seven games. Robin Lopez contributed 14 points and Nicolas Batum recorded 11 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Anthony Davis had 21 points and nine rebounds while Tyreke Evans scored 21 off the bench to lead the Pelicans. Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon each tallied 18 points as New Orleans dropped to 0-4 on its five-game road trip.

Portland held a 96-86 lead after Matthews’ 3-pointer with 8:49 left before the Pelicans began to chip away, knotting it at 101 when Davis split a pair of free throws with 3:14 to play. Davis twice gave New Orleans a lead before Lillard buried a 3-pointer with 1:27 left and Matthews drove for a layup on the next possession as the Blazers put it away.

The Pelicans led by as much as 13 points with 4:05 left in the first half when Portland broke out a 13-0 run to tie it up and ended the half down 53-52. Aldridge capped a 17-6 run opening the third with a dunk to give Portland a 10-point advantage before New Orleans cut it to 83-78 entering the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pelicans C Jason Smith (knee) sat out the game and is day-to-day. … Evans and Lopez got tied up in the fourth quarter and each received a technical foul. … New Orleans finishes up its road trip at Sacramento on Monday.
