Suns 106, Raptors 97: Markieff Morris scored 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds as host Phoenix knocked off Toronto.

P.J. Tucker had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe scored 16 points for the Suns. Goran Dragic tallied 14 points for Phoenix, which had a 53-36 rebounding edge.

Amir Johnson scored a season-best 22 points off the bench and Kyle Lowry added 21 for the Raptors, who lost their fifth straight game. Rudy Gay had 17 points and 10 rebounds, DeMar DeRozan added 13 points and Jonas Valanciunas had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Phoenix led by seven at the start of the fourth quarter and increased its lead to 97-83 on Bledsoe’s 3-pointer with 4:37 to play. The Raptors again crept within seven on two free throws by Gay with 1:16 remaining but got no closer.

Morris had 15 first-half points as Phoenix led 52-50 at the break. The Suns led by as many as 13 in the third quarter before taking an 81-74 advantage into the final stanza.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Raptors F Tyler Hansbrough left in the opening quarter with a left shoulder injury. … Morris made his first 11 shots from the field before missing his final three attempts. … DeMar DeRozan is five points away from becoming the sixth player in Raptors history to reach 5,000 career points.
