Wizards 116, Lakers 111:
John Wall collected 31 points and nine assists as host Washington ended Los Angeles’ three-game winning streak.

Nene added a career-high 30 points and Martell Webster buried four 3-pointers en route to 20 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who improved to 4-2 at home. Marcin Gortat chipped in 15 points as Washington controlled the interior with a 42-34 advantage on the glass and a 56-36 edge on points in the paint.

Jordan Farmar had 22 points and eight assists off the bench to lead the Lakers. Pau Gasol chipped in 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds and Nick Young scored 16 but missed a tying 3-point attempt with 15 seconds remaining.

Webster knocked down three 3-pointers in the first 4 1/2 minutes of the fourth quarter and Eric Maynor added another as the Wizards grabbed a 96-87 lead. Xavier Henry capped a 9-2 burst with a three-point play to draw the Lakers within 98-96 midway through the period.

Los Angeles went up 108-107 on Gasol’s bucket with 1:54 left but Washington called timeout and regrouped. Wall’s jumper put the Wizards back on top and Nene followed a Lakers turnover with a layup before Wall closed it out with five free throws in the final 28 seconds.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lakers G Kobe Bryant spoke to the media before the game and said he is “probably weeks" away from returning from his torn Achilles. … Washington F Trevor Ariza (hamstring) returned after a five-game absence and scored 13 points in 32 minutes against his former team. … The Lakers went 13-for-28 from 3-point range, led by Farmar’s 3-of-4.
