Miles Plumlee added 18 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe scored seven of his 17 points in the final 1:36 while handing out nine assists for the Suns. Marcus Morris chipped in three 3-pointers en route to 11 points and eight boards in a reserve role for Phoenix.

Ty Lawson scored 21 of his 29 points in a third quarter that saw the Nuggets double up the Suns 40-20 to head into the final frame with an 87-84 lead. Jordan Hamilton added 19 points and nine rebounds for Phoenix, which failed to pick up its first road victory after fading in the fourth.

Denver, enduring the second night of a back-to-back, struggled to 40 percent shooting in the first half as the Suns raced out to a 64-47 lead at the break. The Nuggets looked like a different team coming out of the locker room and used a 25-4 run over a span of less than four minutes to turn a 70-59 deficit into an 84-74 lead with 2:18 left to play in the third quarter.

Phoenix recovered to pull within three entering the fourth quarter and quickly regained the lead on jumpers by Markieff and Marcus Morris. Denver took one more edge at 95-93 but could not hold on as the Suns pulled away with a 12-0 burst, highlight by a 3-pointer from each of the Morris brothers.
