Bobcats 92, Raptors 90: Gerald Henderson scored 23 points as Charlotte fended off visiting Toronto to move above the .500 mark.

Henderson shot 10-for-17 from the field to pace the Bobcats, who improved to 2-0 at home. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 14 points while Josh McRoberts and Jeff Taylor added 13 apiece.

Rudy Gay's 20 points led the Raptors, who trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half before making a game of it. DeMar DeRozan poured in 14 points while Jonas Valanciunas added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Raptors trailed 36-20 following Kidd-Gilchrist's layup with 10:52 remaining in the second quarter but clawed back as the half drew to a close. Amir Johnson knocked down a short jumper to reduce the deficit to single digits, and Kyle Lowry and DeRozan followed with three straight 3-pointers as the teams went into the break tied 53-53.

Toronto jumped ahead by five on a pair of free throws by Gay early in the third quarter, but the Bobcats responded by holding the Raptors without a field goal for nearly 7 1/2 minutes, taking the lead on a McRoberts dunk and going into the fourth with a 76-70 edge. Toronto made it a one-possession game on four occasions in the final quarter - the last coming with 1:02 remaining - but DeRozan's potential game-tying shot drew air and Charlotte held on.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Charlotte prevailed despite shooting just 17-for-30 from the free-throw line ... Bobcats F/C Al Jefferson missed his fourth straight game with an ankle injury. ... Gay went 8-for-21 from the field and is shooting 33.7 percent on the season.
