76ers 114, Heat 110: Michael Carter-Williams recorded 22 points, 12 assists and an NBA debut-record nine steals as host Philadelphia rallied from nine points down in the fourth quarter to shock Miami.

Evan Turner registered 26 points and Spencer Hawes had 24, including a 3-pointer followed by a layup that gave the 76ers a 109-108 lead with 2:05 left. Tony Wroten added 14 points off the bench for Philadelphia, which gave Brett Brown a victory in his debut as coach and snapped a 15-game losing streak to Miami in the regular season.

LeBron James led Miami with 25 points and 13 assists, but could not convert on two big opportunities down the stretch for the Heat, who trailed 19-0 early. Chris Bosh added 22 points and 10 rebounds while Ray Allen scored 19 for the Heat, who made 16-of-40 from 3-point range.

Philadelphia made its first 11 shots from the field and led by as many as 22 in the first quarter before settling for a 33-14 advantage. Norris Cole and Rashard Lewis came off the bench to key a 14-0 run for the Heat in the second quarter and James hit a pair of free throws in the final seconds to bring Miami within 51-49 at halftime.

The Heat made nine of their 12 shots from 3-point range in the third quarter, including Allen’s bucket from just past midcourt at the buzzer for a 94-85 lead. Miami led 107-99 after a James dunk, but the 76ers outscored the Heat 15-3 down the stretch – capped by two Carter-Williams free throws with 8.5 seconds left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami All Star G Dwyane Wade, who scored 13 points in the opener against Chicago Tuesday, was rested for precautionary reasons. … Allen Iverson, who played his first 10-plus seasons (1996-2006) with the 76ers and was named the NBA MVP in 2001, announced his retirement Wednesday. … Carter-Williams also had seven rebounds and only one turnover.
