Clippers 112, Grizzlies 91:
Chris Paul scored 23 points and Eric Bledsoe scored 15 on 7-of-7 shooting as Los Angeles roared past visiting Memphis in the opener of their Western Conference first-round playoff series.

Chauncey Billups added 14 points while Caron Butler and Jamal Crawford had 13 points apiece as seven Clippers scored in double figures. Los Angeles outscored the Grizzlies 37-22 in the fourth quarter and shot 15-of-22.

Jerryd Bayless scored 19 points and Marc Gasol added 16 for the Grizzlies. Game 2 of the best-of-7 series is Monday at Los Angeles.

The Clippers led by one with 10 minutes left before embarking on a 15-3 surge culminated by Bledsoe’s basket with 4:50 left. The Grizzlies trailed by 10 after two free throws by Gasol with 3:14 to play before Paul scored five straight points and Bledsoe and Barnes added baskets to make it 106-87 with 1:47 remaining.

Los Angeles led 57-51 at halftime and extended the lead to 11 on Paul’s 3-pointer with 9:45 left in the third quarter. Memphis cut its deficit to six entering the fourth and pulled within 77-76 on a 3-pointer by Keyon Dooling with 10:11 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Los Angeles had an astounding 47-23 rebounding advantage with 14 of the boards coming on the offensive end. … Zach Randolph with 13 points and Mike Conley with 12 also reached double digits for Memphis. Matt Barnes and Blake Griffin had 10 apiece for the Clippers. … A total of 57 fouls were called in the physical opener – 29 on the Grizzlies.
