Clippers 109, Lakers 95: Blake Griffin had 24 points and 12 rebounds and Chris Paul had 24 points and 12 assists as the host Los Angeles Clippers completed a four-game season sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers to clinch the Pacific Division crown.

Jamal Crawford scored 20 points and DeAndre Jordan grabbed 13 rebounds as the Clippers won the first division title in the franchise’s 43-season history, which includes stints as the Buffalo Braves (1970-78) and San Diego Clippers (1978-84).

Kobe Bryant had 25 points and 10 assists and Dwight Howard scored 25 points as the Lakers slipped a half-game behind the Utah Jazz in the battle for the final playoff berth in the Western Conference. The Utah Jazz hold the tiebreaker edge so the Lakers have to finish with a better record to land the spot.

The Clippers led by double digits nearly the entire second half. The Lakers were within 10 after three free throws by Bryant with 4:01 left but the Clippers pulled away, climaxed by Griffin slamming home a putback and draining a 3-pointer to push the lead to 16 with 1:20 left.

The Clippers had a 56-49 halftime advantage and increased the lead to 14 on a 3-pointer by Caron Butler with 7:43 left in the third quarter. The advantage was 12 entering the final stanza and the Lakers crept within single digits on a three-point play by Earl Clark that cut the deficit to 88-79 with 7:39 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: This is the first time the Clippers have swept a season series with the Lakers in the 29 seasons they have been located in Los Angeles. … Lakers PG Steve Nash (hip) missed his third straight contest. … Clinching the division assures the Clippers of at least the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference and homecourt advantage in the first round.
