Mavericks 127, Hawks 113: Darren Collison scored 24 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 22 as hot-shooting Dallas defeated host Atlanta.

O.J. Mayo scored 17 points and Chris Kaman tallied 14 as the Mavericks shot 57.3 percent from the field, including a stellar 13-for-22 effort from 3-point range. The Mavericks have won six of eight games.

Jeff Teague had 19 points and seven assists, Al Horford had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Josh Smith scored 13 points for the Hawks, who had a three-game winning streak halted.

Collison had 18 first-half points on 8-of-9 shooting as Dallas led by as 19 en route to a 68-55 lead at the break. The Mavericks led by 18 with just over four minutes left in the third quarter before Atlanta closed strong to cut its deficit to 98-85 entering the final stanza.

Dallas continued its torrid shooting early in the final quarter, building its lead to 113-92 on a 3-pointer by Vince Carter with 7:54 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Carter scored 13 points to become the 28th player in NBA history to surpass 22,000 career points. His total stands at 22,006. … Horford has eight double-doubles in nine games and 38 overall this season. … The start of the fourth quarter was delayed for several minutes after a Hawks’ cheerleader suffered a fall during a routine. The woman was taken off the court on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital.
