Ty Lawson had 21 points and 11 assists and host Denver extended its winning streak to seven with an impressive victory over Los Angeles.

Danilo Gallinari scored 20 points and Kenneth Faried added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Denver, which led 85-75 after shooting 77.8 percent in the third quarter. The Nuggets recorded their 13th straight home win while shooting 55.8 percent overall.

Matt Barnes scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half and Blake Griffin had 17 points to lead Los Angeles, which trailed by eight with 8:26 remaining before Denver took a commanding 14-point lead with 6:33 left. Chris Paul chipped in 16 points and 10 assists.

Denver, which shot 11-of-23 from 3-point range, secured the tiebreaker over the Clippers after winning the season series 2-1. The Nuggets have won 17 of their last 21 to move 2 1/2 games behind No. 3 seed Los Angeles.

Andre Iguodala had 14 points and Andre Miller and Wilson Chandler scored 12 apiece off the bench for the Nuggets, who snapped the Clippers’ five-game road winning streak.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Clippers G Jamal Crawford is listed as day-to-day after missing the game with a sore left ankle. … The Nuggets improved to 27-3 at the Pepsi Center. … Los Angeles, which was playing the back end of a back-to-back after beating Milwaukee on Wednesday, was 7-of-22 from 3-point range.
