Spurs 97, Suns 87:
Kawhi Leonard and Patty Mills scored 16 points apiece as visiting San Antonio concluded the rodeo road trip with a 7-2 record.

Tiago Splitter added 14 points while Boris Diaw and Manu Ginobili scored 12 points apiece for the Spurs, who played without point guard Tony Parker due to a triceps injury while improving to a league-best 23-11 on the road.

Marcin Gortat had 21 points and 12 rebounds and Luis Scola tallied 15 points for Phoenix, which has lost seven of eight games.

The Suns were within 72-61 on two free throws by Markieff Morris with 1:22 left in the third quarter before the Spurs went on a 12-2 run over the next 4 1/2 minutes to take an 84-63 advantage with 8:45 remaining. San Antonio cruised down the stretch for its 17th win in 19 games.

Phoenix led 21-19 after one quarter but the Spurs began the second quarter with 14 straight points over the first three minutes to open up a 12-point edge. The lead reached 44-25 on Splitter’s three-point play before San Antonio settled for a 14-point lead at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: San Antonio has beaten the Suns six consecutive times. … Phoenix PG Goran Dragic suffered through a 3-of-14 shooting performance but had 10 points and 11 assists for his fourth straight double-double. … The Spurs begin a stretch in which they play 13 of 15 at home when they host the Suns on Wednesday. Phoenix hosts the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.
