Hornets 99, Trail Blazers 63: Rookie Anthony Davis had 21 points and 11 rebounds as host New Orleans throttled Portland.

Reserves Ryan Anderson and Jason Smith scored 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Hornets, who won for the fourth time in five games and sent the Trail Blazers to their fifth consecutive defeat.

Rookie Damian Lillard scored 12 points in a miserable performance for Portland, which shot 32.4 percent and recorded season lows in points through all four quarters.

New Orleans limited Portland to 12 second-quarter points in taking a 38-26 halftime lead before breaking the game open with a 10-2 spurt to build a 20-point lead midway through the third quarter.

Davis, the top overall pick in last year's draft, had his highest offensive output since scoring 25 points against Toronto on Dec. 28.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Trail Blazers G Wesley Matthews suffered a sprained left ankle less than two minutes into the game and did not return. X-rays were negative. ... Hornets G Eric Gordon missed his second straight game due to a sprained right hand. ... Portland's 26 first-half points were a season-low by an opponent of New Orleans.
