Mavericks 109, Suns 99: O.J. Mayo scored 20 points and Darren Collison added 19 as visiting Dallas defeated Phoenix for the third straight time this season and 11th in the last 12 meetings.

Vince Carter tallied 17 points and Shawn Marion had 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Mavericks, who were without Dirk Nowitzki (thigh) for the second consecutive game.

Shannon Brown scored 20 points and Goran Dragic had 19 points and nine assists as five players scored 16 or more points for the Suns.

Luis Scola had 18 points and eight rebounds and his layup with 9:37 to go gave Phoenix an 81-80 lead. A short time later, Carter drained a tiebreaking 3-pointer as part of a 12-4 run that saw Dallas take a 92-85 lead. The Suns never got closer than five the rest of the contest.

Phoenix led by seven with 8:37 left in the second quarter after a basket by Scola but the Mavericks rallied back and the score was tied at 54 at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Mavericks improved to 8-18 on the road. … Jared Dudley scored 17 points and Marcin Gortat added 16 for the Suns. … Dallas reached 100 points for the 10th time in 11 games.
