Mavericks 105, Rockets 100: Dirk Nowitzki scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter and host Dallas extended its winning streak to four games by continuing its domination of Houston.

Shawn Marion added 18 points and nine rebounds and O.J. Mayo also scored 18 points as the Mavericks beat Houston for the ninth consecutive time and handed the Rockets their fifth straight overall defeat.

James Harden scored 20 points to pace Houston but labored through a wretched shooting performance, connecting on 5 of 23 and 1 of 8 from 3-point range. Jeremy Lin added 19 points for the Rockets, including 14 in the final quarter.

Dallas scored 19 unanswered points in the first quarter to build a 14-point lead and reeled off a 10-0 spurt in the second to go ahead by 15 before settling for a 52-44 halftime advantage.

A basket by Nowitzki gave the Mavericks a 93-82 lead with just under seven minutes left, but Lin scored 10 points during a 12-2 burst to cut the deficit to one. Houston drew even with 1:52 to play, but Dallas went 8-for-8 at the free-throw line to close it out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harden extended his streak of consecutive 20-point efforts to 22 games. ... Mayo hit 12 of 13 free throws as the Mavericks finished 34-of-43 from the line in improving to 11-1 at home when leading after three quarters. Houston was 23-of-30, with Lin and Harden accounting for all seven misses. ... Rockets C Omer Asik had 12 points and a game-high 15 boards.
