Nets 99, Suns 79: Joe Johnson shook off an illness to score 19 points and short-handed Brooklyn extended its winning streak to five games while handing visiting Phoenix its fifth consecutive loss.

MarShon Brooks came off the bench to score a season-high 17 points and Andray Blatche and a hobbled Deron Williams added 15 apiece as the Nets sent the Suns to their 12th straight road loss and snapped a string of five home losses to Phoenix.

Jared Dudley had 18 points and Shannon Brown scored 15 for the Suns, who led by as many as 11 points in the second quarter but managed to score only 26 points in the second half in falling to 2-17 away from home.

Brooklyn improved to 7-1 under interim coach P.J. Carlesimo despite losing starting forward Gerald Wallace to injury in the first quarter and having Williams limp through most of the second half after taking a knee to the thigh.

Brown scored 11 points in the second quarter and Phoenix hit 11 of 16 shots to take a 53-46 lead into the break. The Nets rallied behind Blatche and Brooks, who combined to outscore the Suns 16-13 in the third and give Brooklyn a 74-66 lead. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Johnson capped a 10-0 run to open the fourth and put the game out of reach.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nets F Wallace left the game midway through the first quarter with bruised ribs after he was fouled on a dunk attempt by P.J. Tucker. Wallace was unable to shoot his free throws and because it was not a flagrant foul, he could not return to the game. Brooklyn was already without Kris Humphries (ankle), Mirza Teletovic (illness) and Jerry Stackhouse (hamstring). ... Goran Dragic and Luis Scola had 12 points each for Phoenix, which is mired in its longest road losing streak since dropping 14 straight from Jan. 3 to Feb. 17, 1984. ... Brooklyn posted its third straight victory by at least 20 points - the first time it has accomplished that since 1975 when the team was part of the American Basketball Association.
