Hornets 95, Spurs 88: Eric Gordon poured in 24 points and rookie Anthony Davis added 17 as host New Orleans used a pivotal fourth-quarter run to fend off San Antonio.
Gordon hit just nine of 22 shots in his second start since returning from a serious knee injury but made all six of his free throws while adding four rebounds in the upset win. Greivis Vasquez chipped in 14 points and 11 assists while Ryan Anderson had 13 points in a reserve role.
Manu Ginobili's 21 bench points paced the Spurs, who struggled with long-range shooting and ball control. San Antonio shot just 6-for-21 from beyond the arc while committing 11 of their 19 turnovers in a sloppy first half.
Gordon had 12 points and Davis added 10 as the Hornets carried a 49-41 advantage into the break. The lead grew to double digits on Robin Lopez's jumper with 8:03 remaining in the third and stayed there for most of the quarter, until the Spurs closed with an 8-0 run to trim the deficit to 70-65 entering the fourth.
Gary Neal's jumper with 7:29 left brought San Antonio within three, but the Hornets responded with a 12-4 run punctuated by a vicious Davis slam dunk with 4:38 remaining. San Antonio closed to within eight, but Anderson knocked down a 3-pointer with just under a minute left to put away the game.
