Knicks 94, Timberwolves 91: Carmelo Anthony scored 19 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter as host New York rallied to defeat Minnesota.

Anthony scored all but four of his team's points in the fourth - including the final 12 - as the Knicks bounced back from a rough patch that saw them drop two of three at home this week. They opened the season with 10 straight wins at Madison Square Garden.

J.R. Smith scored 19 points, Tyson Chandler added 16 points and nine rebounds and Raymond Felton scored 15 for New York, which struggled again from 3-point range, connecting on only 6 of 26 attempts.

Nikola Pekovic had his fourth straight double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who were playing without star forward Kevin Love (eye). Despite his absence, Minnesota led by 11 early and carried a nine-point edge into halftime.

The Knicks cut the deficit to 73-71 entering the fourth before Anthony went to work. He hit a 3-pointer followed by a three-point play for an 88-86 lead with 1:13 remaining - New York's first since 5-4. He then converted six free throws in the final 31 seconds to preserve the win.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Knicks coach Mike Woodson said F Amar'e Stoudemire, who has yet to play this season, will not make his debut on Christmas Day. He is expected to accompany the team on its upcoming three-game road trip. ... Love is day-to-day after getting poked in the eye in Thursday's win over Oklahoma City. He had averaged 32 points and 22.3 boards in the previous three meetings against the Knicks. ... New York is only 23-for-83 from behind the arc in the last three games.
