Bulls 110, Knicks 106: Luol Deng set season highs with 29 points and 13 rebounds as visiting Chicago jumped out to a big lead and handed New York its second home loss.

Marco Belinelli scored 22 points, Kirk Hinrich added 16, nine rebounds and eight assists and Joakim Noah chipped in 15 points and 12 boards for the Bulls, who have won seven of their last nine.

Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points before being ejected and J.R. Smith added a season-high 26 to go along with 10 rebounds off the bench for the Knicks, who dropped to 11-2 at Madison Square Garden. Anthony was sent off with 6:45 left in the game for arguing with officials.

The frustration started to boil over before Anthony’s ejection for New York, which was upset about the officiating. Coach Mike Woodson was tossed with 5:22 left in the game and center Tyson Chandler was ejected along with Noah less than a minute later for a scrum in the lane that involved some pushing and shoving.

Chicago held the Knicks to 34.8 percent shooting in the first half to take a 54-39 lead into the break. The Bulls stretched it out to a 22-point edge by the end of the third quarter but had to fight off a late charge as New York cut it to single digits in the final minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Smith fouled out with 7:09 left, one of many calls disputed by the Knicks that led to Anthony and Woodson yelling at officials. … The Bulls won the battle of the boards 51-40. … Chicago F Taj Gibson (ankle) missed practiced on Thursday and was limited to four minutes off the bench against New York.
