76ers 104, Pistons 97: Jrue Holiday scored 21 of his 25 points after halftime and host Philadelphia avenged one of its worst losses of the season by holding off Detroit.

Holiday's best work occurred during the fourth quarter and it helped the 76ers gradually expand a 76-75 lead. He scored six straight points, including a spinning layup around Greg Monroe that gave Philadelphia an 89-84 lead with 7:21 remaining. Holiday's biggest shot was a pull-up jumper that made the lead 100-95 with 39.9 seconds left after he had missed two free throws.

Thaddeus Young added 20 points and also tied a career high with five steals - three coming in the fourth quarter. Evan Turner nearly recorded his first career triple-double by contributing 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Turner's biggest boards came after Monroe and Tayshaun Prince missed easy baskets in the final minute.

Monroe led the way with 22 points for Detroit, which ended a season-opening eight-game losing streak with an 18-point win in Philadelphia on Nov. 14. Brandon Knight followed up his first career 30-point game by also scoring 22.

Spencer Hawes collected 15 points and eight rebounds while Jason Richardson chipped in 13 points as Philadelphia shot 53.7 percent.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Detroit F Jason Maxiell had 11 rebounds for his third double-digit rebounding game of the season, and tied a season high with four offensive boards. ... Philadelphia reserve Nick Young returned after missing four straight games with a hyperextended big left toe. He scored three points in 17:56. ... The 76ers struggled to make 12 of 23 from the foul line.
