Kings 113, Lakers 97: Marcus Thornton scored 23 points and Tyreke Evans added 18 as host Sacramento ended its five-game losing streak while handing Mike D'Antoni his first loss as coach of Los Angeles.

Jason Thompson had 13 points and 10 rebounds, John Salmons and Aaron Brooks also scored 13 points and Chuck Hayes chipped in 10 for the Kings, who also snapped their four-game skid at home.

Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 38 points and Jodie Meeks added 15 off the bench for the Lakers, who had won three in a row and five of six since firing coach Mike Brown.

Trailing by two with 8:05 remaining in the third quarter, Sacramento went on an 18-5 run to take a 69-58 lead with 2:53 left. Brooks scored eight points during the spurt.

Bryant sank three 3-pointers to help get Los Angeles within 73-69 entering the fourth, and Meeks scored seven straight Lakers points to begin the period and cut Sacramento's advantage to 77-76. Bryant followed an 11-2 Kings burst with a three-point play to get the Lakers within four before Thornton hit a 3-pointer to give Sacramento control.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Meeks scored Los Angeles' first 12 points of the fourth quarter while Bryant scored 14 straight for the Lakers in the third. ... Salmons poured in nine of Sacramento's 15 first-quarter points. ... Bryant was 5-of-9 from beyond the arc and 11-of-13 from the free-throw line.
