Timberwolves 96, Pacers 94: Chase Budinger snapped a tie with layup as time expired to give host Minnesota a stirring victory over Indiana.

After George Hill's rainbow 3-pointer with 3.8 seconds remaining helped the Pacers erase a six-point deficit, Andrei Kirilenko fed Budinger for the final bucket to give the Timberwolves their third straight victory.

Budinger, who finished with a team-high 18 points off the bench, started the second half as Brandon Roy was plagued by a sore right knee.

Derrick Williams scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and Nikola Pekovic added 13 for the Timberwolves.

Hill finished with a game-high 29 points on 11-for-17 shooting for the Pacers, who suffered their third straight loss.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Minnesota (4-1) is off to its best start since Kevin Garnett guided it to a 6-0 mark in 2001-02. ... Timberwolves G J.J. Barea, who was a spectator for Friday's tilt with a sprain in his left foot, has also been ruled out for Saturday's game against Chicago. ... Indiana's David West scored nine of his 19 points in the fourth quarter. He also added 13 rebounds.
