76ers 77, Hornets 62: Jrue Holiday had 14 points and 12 assists while Evan Turner also scored 14 points as visiting Philadelphia began the third quarter with a 10-0 run and cruised to victory.

Thaddeus Young recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds and Lavoy Allen added 12 points for the 76ers, who have won three of their last four visits to New Orleans and five of six overall against the Hornets.

Spencer Hawes added 11 points off the bench, giving Philadelphia a total of 23 points from the center position in the opener of its three-game road trip.

Al-Farouq Aminu contributed 10 points and a game-high 16 boards for New Orleans, which set a franchise low in scoring. The Hornets previously scored 65 points twice, most recently in 2003 at Boston.

Allen began Philadelphia's pivotal third-quarter run with a jump shot 16 seconds into the period, and Turner hit another 33 seconds later. After Holiday converted a pair of free throws, Allen and Young concluded the uprising with jumpers as the Hornets committed five turnovers during the run.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Orleans' Anthony Davis missed his second straight game with a mild concussion, while teammate Austin Rivers sat out his first contest with a sprained left index finger. Fellow rookie Darius Miller started for Rivers at shooting guard. ... Philadelphia did not attempt a free throw in the first half. ... The 76ers outscored the Hornets 21-10 in the third quarter.
