Nuggets 109, Pistons 97: Andre Iguodala scored nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to go along with 10 rebounds as host Denver pulled away to earn its first victory.

JaVale McGee came off the bench to score 16 points and Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried added 15 points apiece as the Nuggets dropped Detroit to 0-4 on the season.

Kosta Koufos added 14 points and Corey Brewer contributed 11 and eight rebounds to help Denver dominate the backboards 52-35 in beating the Pistons for the fifth straight time.

Center Greg Monroe had a game-high 27 points and 10 boards and Rodney Stuckey added 17 points for Detroit, which was playing the third of a six-game road trip.

Wilson Chandler, Iguodala and Brewer nailed 3-pointers in the first three minutes of the fourth to extend Denver's lead to 96-80, but the Pistons ran off 10 straight points to get within 99-92 with 3:35 left. Iguodala responded by scoring six points in the next 66 seconds to restore the lead to 105-92 with 1:42 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Nuggets launched 30 3-point attempts, making only 10, but three of them came in a span of 1:39 of the fourth to break the game open. ... Stuckey had more field goals (2) in the first 7 1/2 minutes of the game than he had in his first three games combined after opening the season 1-for-23 from the floor. ... The Pistons were 21-of-25 from the free-throw line and Denver finished 17-for-22.
