GRIZZLIES 93 TIMBERWOLVES 86: Rudy Gay scored 21 points and Marreese Speights added 18 to lead Memphis past visiting Minnesota.

Dante Cunningham had 13 points and 14 rebounds and Tony Allen also scored 13 points as the Grizzlies defeated the Timberwolves for the seventh straight time and 10th in 11 meetings.

Kevin Love had 28 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots for Minnesota, which has lost eight of 11 games.

The Grizzlies hit 25 of 28 free throws, had a 49-40 rebounding edge and soundly outplayed the Timberwolves for most of the final quarter. Memphis allowed just eight points over the first seven minutes of the stanza and took an 86-75 lead on a basket by Speights with 5:01 remaining.

Love and Wayne Ellington hit 3-pointers to pull Minnesota within 88-83 with 1:34 remaining before the Grizzlies hit five straight free throws to get the lead back to 10.

Minnesota trailed by six points early in the third quarter before going on a 20-6 spurt to take a 63-55 advantage. Love hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points during the run.

The Grizzlies responded with a 13-4 run to conclude the quarter. Allen had eight points during the surge that allowed Memphis to take a 68-67 lead into the final quarter.

Mike Conley added 12 points and eight assists for the Grizzlies.

Ellington scored 15 points and Derrick Williams added 14 for the Timberwolves.

Gay had 13 first-half points and the Grizzlies led 44-41 at intermission.
