DeMarcus Cousins erupted for 21 points and 19 rebounds as the Sacramento Kings recorded their first road win of the season, defeating the Toronto Raptors 96-91 Wednesday night.

The second-year center shot 6 of 11 from the field and hit 9 of 11 free throws to pace the Kings, who came into the night having dropped their first four games away from Sacramento by an average of 23.3 points.

Tyreke Evans added a team-best 29 points while Isaiah Thomas had 20 in a reserve role for the winners.

Leandro Barbosa's 24 points led the way for the Raptors, who dropped two of three in their only back-to-back-to-back stretch of the season.

The teams played a tight, defensive opening half that saw Sacramento go into the break ahead 41-40. The lead grew as high as five before Toronto answered, with consecutive Amir Johnson baskets highlighting a 9-0 run late in the third quarter that leveled things at 63 entering the fourth.

Cousins' two free throws with 9:03 remaining put the Kings back in front, and he followed it up with a ferocious dunk on the next possession as Sacramento led the rest of the way.

Toronto's Andrea Bargnani, who came into the night averaging nearly 24 points per game, made just two of 13 shots to finish with 10 point
