Derrick Rose and Luol Deng combined for 34 points in the first 15 minutes and the Chicago Bulls coasted on Thursday to a 120-90 victory over the Golden State Warriors, who had a shot at a little history.

Rose finished with 22 points and 13 assists and Deng had 26 points, 11 rebounds and six assists as the Bulls improved to 2-0 on this three-game homestand.

After a game Friday with the Washington Wizards, Chicago will embark on a grueling seven-game Western Conference road swing in which it has lost 21 of 27 games over the last four years.

Chicago scored 13 of its 14 first-quarter hoops within four feet of the basket against a theoretically much-improved Warriors' defense that was playing without late scratch David Lee.

Rose and Deng jammed home two dunks apiece as Chicago took a 34-20 lead after the first quarter. Rose hit two buckets and Deng moved outside and nailed a pair of 3-pointers for a 46-26 lead three minutes into the second quarter.

Chicago led 66-38 at the half and Golden State never came close to showing some fight in the second half.

Monta Ellis had 24 points and Stephen Curry added 17 for the Warriors (6-3), who had won four of their previous five and needed a win to match their best start since 1994-95.

Joakim Noah had 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists as Chicago shot 54.8 percent. Golden State entered allowing 102.4 points and 45 percent shooting, a big improvement over last season and a big reason for its fast start.

Lee missed the game because of an infection in his left arm.
