Danny Granger's step-back 16-footer with three-tenths of a second left guided the Indiana Pacers to a pivotal 119-117 win over the visiting New York Knicks on Tuesday.

After Carmelo Anthony hit a layup for the Knicks to tie the score with seven seconds left, the Pacers gave the ball to Granger and he connected, lifting the Pacers (29-38) to their second straight victory. The win moved Indiana a half-game ahead of the idle Charlotte Bobcats for sole possession of eighth place in the Eastern Conference race.

Tyler Hansbrough led all scorers with 30 points while Granger added 26 and Darren Collison 24 and nine assists. Roy Hibbert chipped in with 15 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Anthony's 29 points paced the Knicks (34-32), who have dropped three straight and saw their lead over seventh-place Philadelphia shrink to a half-game. Amar'e Stoudemire poured in 21 points and grabbed 12 boards, and all five New York starters finished in double figures.
