Tyrese Maxey recorded 30 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds to lift the host Philadelphia 76ers past the Miami Heat 98-91 on Monday.
Kelly Oubre Jr. added 22 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots and Kyle Lowry had 16 points, including a scoop layup with 1:36 remaining that gave Philadelphia a 95-89 lead. Buddy Hield scored 12 points for the Sixers (38-30).
Philadelphia, which won its second consecutive game, played without Tobias Harris (ankle).
Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 20 points, 13 rebounds and six assists. Terry Rozier also scored 20 points, Caleb Martin added 13 and Thomas Bryant and Haywood Highsmith had 11 each for Miami (37-31).
The Heat, who had won two in a row, were missing Jimmy Butler (foot) and Nikola Jovic (hamstring).
Martin's offensive rebound and dunk with 1:12 left got the Heat within 95-91 before the 76ers sealed the victory with three late free throws.
The Heat used a 9-0 run to cut what had been a 17-point deficit to 81-77 with 8:32 left when Patty Mills hit a 3-pointer.
Miami tied the game at 85 when Martin threw down a dunk on a fastbreak with 6:55 remaining.
Hield came back with a 3-pointer on the next possession.
Lowry sank a 3-pointer with 3:09 left for a 91-87 Sixers advantage.
Late in the second quarter, the Heat went ahead 42-39 when Highsmith hit a tough layup.
The Sixers responded with a 6-0 run for a 45-42 advantage, highlighted by a 3-pointer from Oubre. Maxey also knocked down a free throw after Martin was whistled for a technical foul.
Highsmith made a 3-pointer from the corner with 47.4 seconds left for a 49-48 Miami lead.
Oubre dropped in a trey with 0.2 seconds remaining and the Sixers led 51-49 at halftime. Maxey paced the Sixers with 18 first-half points. Adebayo hit all six of his shots before the break and led the Heat with 13.
Philadelphia ripped off a 15-0 run for a 68-51 advantage with 7:07 left in the third quarter following a dunk by Oubre.
Adebayo hit a 3-pointer with three minutes remaining in the third to close the gap to 74-60. It marked the first time in his career that Adebayo made two 3-pointers.
The Sixers led 79-65 at the end of the third.
