Hawks 113, Nets 102: Paul Millsap recorded 28 points and 15 rebounds as Atlanta defeated visiting Brooklyn to extend its franchise-record winning streak to 17 games.

Al Horford made 10-of-13 from the field, grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 20 while Kyle Korver made five 3-pointers en route to 17 points for the Hawks, who have won 31 of their last 33. Jeff Teague had 13 points to go along with 11 assists, Dennis Schroder scored 13 and DeMarre Carroll had 12 for Atlanta.

Joe Johnson led the way with 26 points while Brook Lopez added 18 and Alan Anderson had 15 for the Nets, who have lost 11 of their last 13. Jarrett Jack registered 14 points and a season-high 13 assists and Mason Plumlee also scored 14 for Brooklyn.

The Hawks trailed by one in the second quarter before Teague’s 3-pointer started a run of nine straight points for a 52-44 advantage. Brooklyn crept within five again, but Millsap and Carroll each drained a 3-pointer to end the half as Atlanta finished 8-of-16 behind the arc for a 64-53 edge at intermission.

The Nets got as close as four in the third quarter and were within six early in the fourth before Horford answered with two straight baskets and Korver drained a 3-pointer during a 9-3 burst. Johnson nailed a 3-pointer, but Mike Scott responded with a dunk and Millsap scored the next four for a 106-91 lead and the Hawks held on.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta set a franchise record for wins in a month with 15 after recording 14 in December of 2014 and January of 1997. … The Hawks were 25-of-26 from the free-throw line – led by Millsap’s 15-of-16 – and the Nets made 15-of-18. … Atlanta G Shelvin Mack missed his fifth straight contest with a left calf strain. ... The Hawks matched last season’s win total (38).
