Jazz 101, Timberwolves 89: Trey Burke scored a season-high 28 points with six rebounds and six assists as visiting Utah handed Minnesota its 11th consecutive loss.

Derrick Favors added 15 points and eight rebounds and Rudy Gobert finished with a career-high 13 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks for the Jazz, who shot 11-for-20 from 3-point range. Ian Clark, Jeremy Evans and Gordon Hayward contributed nine points apiece for Utah, which has won six of nine following a 6-19 start.

Rookie Andrew Wiggins and Mo Williams scored 20 points apiece to lead Minnesota. Gorgui Dieng scored eight of his 10 points in the first half and Jeff Adrien grabbed a team-high eight rebounds off the bench for the Timberwolves.

An 11-2 run early in the second quarter put the Jazz on top 31-25 and the teams continued to trade leads until Utah concluded the first half with a 12-4 burst to take a 47-41 advantage into the intermission. The Jazz took their first double-digit lead at 58-46 on a three-point play by Favors and 10 unanswered points stretched the lead to 20 with 5:45 still left in the third.

The Jazz eventually took a 77-61 advantage into the fourth after shooting 13-for-19 in the third and had to fight off a challenge from Minnesota, which trimmed the deficit to eight with a 10-2 run to start the final frame. That was as close as the Timberwolves would get, however, as Favors scored out of a timeout to extend the lead back to 10 and the Jazz weren’t challenged again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Jazz were without three injured SGs so rookie Joe Ingles made his first career start and finished with seven points. ... Utah C Enes Kanter suffered a sprained ankle in Friday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks and Gobert started in his place. … Burke scored his previous season high of 26 points against the Timberwolves in November and his career high of 32 against Minnesota in April.
