Hawks 99, Pistons 89: Jeff Teague recorded a season-high 28 points and handed out six assists as Atlanta held off visiting Detroit for its fifth victory in seven games.

Paul Millsap contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Hawks, who limited the Pistons to 37.3 shooting while improving to 5-1 at home. Al Horford chipped in with 14 points, Kyle Korver had 12 and DeMarre Carroll added 10 for Atlanta after returning from a four-game absence due to a groin injury.

Josh Smith led the way with 16 points while Andre Drummond registered 13 and 16 rebounds as Detroit lost for the seventh time in its last eight games. D.J. Augustin recorded 14 points off the bench for the Pistons, who have scored 100 points only once this season.

Kyle Singler and Augustin each scored four as Detroit erased a 10-point deficit in the first 3:30 of the fourth quarter. The Hawks answered by scoring 15 of the next 21 points, including 3-pointers by Korver and Teague, to take an 89-80 lead with 4:50 remaining and did not allow the Pistons closer than seven the rest of the way.

Millsap scored 10 points in the first half as Atlanta led by as many as 11 and held Detroit to 35.7 percent shooting before settling for a 50-40 advantage at intermission. The Hawks extended their lead to 19 before the Pistons scored 13 of the final 17 points in the third quarter – six by Greg Monroe – to close within 74-64 going into the fourth.
