Pacers 85, Wizards 63:
Paul George collected 23 points and eight rebounds and visiting Indiana used a suffocating defense to take a 2-1 lead over Washington in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Pacers, who held the Wizards to their regular-season low of 66 points on Jan. 10, did not allow more than 18 points in any quarter. Roy Hibbert had his second straight productive game with 14 points, five rebounds and three blocks for Indiana, which used a big third quarter to overcome its own offensive woes.

Bradley Beal scored 16 points and John Wall added 15 for Washington, which will host Game 4 on Sunday. Trevor Ariza recorded 12 points and 15 rebounds and Marcin Gortat grabbed 10 boards for the Wizards.

Washington held a 37-36 lead with 9:29 left in the third quarter before the Pacers found a rhythm on offense, getting 3-pointers from George and George Hill during a 12-0 burst. The advantage stretched to 17 points late in the period before Indiana settled for a 60-45 lead heading to the final stanza.

Beal scored on two straight possessions to start the fourth and cut the deficit to 11 points and it was a 70-58 gap with 5:03 left before David West knocked down a jumper and George connected again from beyond the arc to spread it back out. Hill’s 3-pointer with 1:43 to play made the lead 20 points as Indiana ran away.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Wizards set a franchise record for fewest points in a playoff game, eclipsing the record of 75 set in a Game 5 win over the Chicago Bulls in the first round. … Wall committed seven of Washington’s 18 turnovers. … The Wizards shot 32.9 percent from the floor, including 4-of-16 from 3-point range, and missed 10 of 21 free-throw attempts.
