Bulls 100, Wizards 97: Mike Dunleavy went 8-of-10 from 3-point range en route to a playoff career-high 35 points and Jimmy Butler hit a go-ahead 3-pointer as visiting Chicago drew within 2-1 in the first-round series.

Butler finished with 15 points and Carlos Boozer added 14 for the Bulls, who avoided an 0-3 hole. Dunleavy went 12-of-19 from the floor and added five rebounds while Taj Gibson and D.J. Augustin each scored 13 points off the bench for Chicago.

Bradley Beal scored 25 points and John Wall added 23 and seven assists for Washington, which hosts Game 4 on Sunday. Trevor Ariza collected 16 points and 11 rebounds and Marcin Gortat added 13 and 11 for the Wizards.

Beal scored six points in a 10-1 burst that gave Washington an 88-86 lead with 3:21 left and followed Dunleavy’s 3-pointer with one of his own before the Bulls hit two free throws to knot it at 91. Butler hit a 3-pointer with 24.2 seconds remaining to give Chicago a 94-91 advantage and Augustin and Gibson combined to hit four free throws in the final five seconds to help put it away.

Nene scored four straight points to pull the Wizards within 78-76 before he was ejected with 8:27 left for getting into an altercation with Butler that involved a headbutt and Nene grabbing the back of Butler’s neck. Augustin missed the technical free throw but Butler drained a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession to give the Bulls an 81-76 cushion, and the lead was 85-78 midway through the fourth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wizards rode a combined 25 points from Beal and Wall to a 51-48 halftime advantage and led by as much as nine points early in the third quarter before Chicago closed strong to take a 72-69 lead into the fourth. … Nene, who averaged 20.5 points in the first two games, was held to 10 points on 5-of-15 shooting in 29 minutes. … Dunleavy came within one point of matching his career high and helped the Bulls finish 12-of-24 from beyond the arc.
