Paul Millsap had 28 points and a season-best 17 rebounds as host Atlanta upended Philadelphia to halt a six-game losing streak.

Lou Williams scored 11 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to help hand his former team its 27th loss in 28 games. Jeff Teague added 12 points as the Hawks remained one game ahead of the New York Knicks in the battle for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Thaddeus Young went 5-of-6 from 3-point range and scored 23 points to lead the 76ers. James Anderson added 19 points and Michael Carter-Williams contributed 16 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for Philadelphia, which committed 20 turnovers leading to 24 Atlanta points.

Teague’s three-point play knotted the score at 92 with 2:55 remaining and Williams’ driving floater put Atlanta ahead to stay 29 seconds later. Williams drained a 3-pointer with 1:49 left to make it a five-point margin and he knocked another one down from the right corner with 1:12 to go as the Hawks won for only the seventh time in 27 games.

Philadelphia led 21-9 just prior to the midway point of the opening quarter and led by as many as 13 points in the second before settling for a 53-43 halftime lead. A 3-pointer by Anderson gave the 76ers a 68-56 lead with just over seven minutes left in the third but Atlanta closed the stanza with nine consecutive points to take a 75-73 lead into the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta collected 13 offensive rebounds and posted a 49-40 advantage on the boards while also recording a 48-34 edge in points in the paint. … The 76ers were 11-of-30 from 3-point range, while the Hawks were just 7-of-31. … Atlanta SG Kyle Korver (back) had 11 points in 27 minutes after missing the previous six games.
