Suns 112, Knicks 88: Goran Dragic scored 32 points, despite needing five stitches in the first half to close a gash above his eye, and Phoenix stormed away from visiting New York.

Eric Bledsoe added 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Markieff Morris contributed 16 points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Suns, who moved into seventh place in the Western Conference standings, a half-game ahead of eighth-place Memphis. P.J. Tucker finished with 11 points and Miles Plumlee also scored 11 while adding 12 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony had 21 points and seven rebounds to lead the Knicks, who missed a chance to gain ground on the Atlanta Hawks for eighth place in the East and remain two games back of the final playoff spot. Amar’e Stoudemire added 19 points and J.R. Smith finished with 15 for New York, which has two games left on its five-game road trip.

The Knicks built a pair of five-point leads in the opening quarter but the tide began to turn when Gerald Green buried a 3-pointer with just under four minutes left to tie the score at 22. That represented the start of a 8-0 run that gave the Suns the lead for good.

New York made its last challenge by scoring six straight points early in the second quarter to pull within four, but Morris carried Phoenix during the same stretch by scoring eight straight points to push the lead back to eight. He later buried a 3-pointer to highlight a 9-0 run that pushed the advantage to 53-37 with 4:01 left in the first half, and the lead ballooned to 22 at the break.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Suns owned a 56-37 advantage on the boards. … Plumlee posted his first double-double since Jan. 27 after posting 10 in the first three months of the season. … Morris came in averaging 16.1 points in the month of March, the best month of his three-year career.
