Mavericks 108, Magic 100: Monta Ellis led six players in double figures with 19 points and DeJuan Blair recorded a season-high 18 as Dallas took a big lead and held on to win its eighth straight at Orlando.

Dirk Nowitzki chipped in with four 3-pointers and 18 points while Jose Calderon registered 11 points and nine assists for the Mavericks. Vince Carter had 12 points and Shawn Marion 11 for Dallas, which lost at Miami on Friday.

Arron Afflalo led the way with 25 points, including 13-of-14 from the free-throw line, for the Magic and Nikola Vucevic added 16 points and eight rebounds. Jameer Nelson finished with 15 points for Orlando, which lost for the second time in six home games.

The Magic led by five early and held a two-point advantage before Dallas scored 11 of the final 13 in the opening quarter – four by Carter – to take a 31-24 lead. Ellis led a balanced offense with 10 points in the opening half as the Mavericks pushed the lead as high as 15 and settled for a 59-46 advantage at intermission.

Orlando chipped away after halftime and got as close as six on rookie Victor Oladipo’s 3-pointer with 1:02 left before going to the fourth quarter trailing 87-80. The Magic crept within 91-87 on a baby hook by Vucevic, but big 3-pointers by Marion and Nowitzki pushed the lead to 100-91 and Dallas was on its way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ellis has scored at least 18 points in all 10 games for the Mavericks. … Orlando F Solomon Jones returned to the lineup after missing the last seven games with a knee injury and contributed two points while F Kyle O’Quinn missed the game with a sprained ankle. … The Mavericks made 10-of-27 from 3-point range and Orlando was 4-of-15 from beyond the arc.
