Brook Lopez collected a team-high 22 points and 11 rebounds and Deron Williams added 16 points and a season-high 14 assists to lead Brooklyn past the visiting Knicks in the first meeting of crosstown rivals since the Nets relocated to Brooklyn.

The Nets (9-4), who have won six straight and seven of their first eight games at the new Barclays Center, took control with an 8-0 run in overtime and iced it at the free-throw line.

Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 35 points to go with 13 rebounds for the Knicks (9-4), but he was just 10-of-16 from the foul line and missed the potential winning jumper at the end of regulation. Tyson Chandler added a career-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for New York.

Gerald Wallace also scored 16 points for Brooklyn, including three straight during the pivotal stretch in overtime. Veteran Jerry Stackhouse added 14 points off the bench for the Nets, going 4-for-5 from 3-point range.

Knicks point guard Raymond Felton struggled, shooting 3-for-19 from the field for eight points while committing five turnovers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The game originally was scheduled as the season opener on Nov. 1, but it was postponed because of Superstorm Sandy. … Knicks G Jason Kidd did not travel with the team because of lower back spasms. … The Nets' 7-1 start at home is their best since winning 18 of their first 19 home games in the 2002-03 season.
