Nets 113, Mavericks 96: Brook Lopez scored a season-high 38 points to go with 11 rebounds and Deron Williams scored 26 of his 31 points in the second half as visiting Brooklyn won for the sixth time in eight games.

Andray Blatche added 14 points off the bench and Reggie Evans grabbed 22 rebounds for the Nets, who have won the first two of an eight-game road trip.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 16 points and Chris Kaman added 14 for Dallas, which slipped 3 1/2 games behind the Los Angeles Lakers for eighth place in the Western Conference and is in jeopardy of ending its streak of 12 consecutive trips to the playoffs.

The Mavericks closed the first quarter with an 18-6 run to take a 10-point advantage, but the Nets made up the deficit in the first 5:29 of the second quarter and sent it to halftime tied at 51.

Williams and Lopez carried the Nets in the second half, and Brooklyn pushed the margin as wide as 10 in the third quarter. Nowitzki hit a jumper to pull the Mavs within 91-88 with 7:45 left, but Williams and Lopez combined for a quick 6-0 spurt and Dallas didn't get that close again.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Nowitzki grabbed six rebounds to surpass 9,000 in his career. He has 9,003. … The Nets are 18-14 on the road and need just two more wins away from home to match the franchise record of 20 set in 2005-06. … Williams has topped 30 points three times in the past seven games.
