: Trevor Ariza came off the bench to score a season-high 26 points as host Washington had no problem handing Charlotte its 10th straight loss.

Martell Webster scored 20 points and Nene had 19 as the Wizards topped the lowly Bobcats for the first time in three tries this season. Washington made 10-of-18 3-pointers and had a 45-32 advantage on the glass.

Kemba Walker paced Charlotte with 29 points, six assists and four steals. Gerald Henderson added 17 points.

It was a three-point Washington lead after one quarter but Webster's 3-pointer 15 seconds into the second ignited a 22-5 run as the Wizards seized control. He had four points in a 6-0 burst early in the third and ended that frame with a 17-footer before the buzzer to put the hosts up 80-64.

Ben Gordon's jumper pulled Charlotte within 83-74 with 8:56 left. Ariza thwarted any hopes of a comeback by scoring 14 points in the final 7:30, including three of his five 3-pointers.

GAME NOTEBOOK
: Wizards rookie G Bradley Beal, the team's leading scorer, missed his third straight game with a sprained left ankle. ... Each of the Bobcats' last nine losses have come by at least 14 points. ... G John Wall chipped in 13 points and six assists for Washington.
