Mavericks 111, Magic 96: Shawn Marion and Elton Brand scored 17 points apiece to lead six players in double figures as host Dallas sent Orlando to its 15th loss in the last 16 games.

Vince Carter added 14 points and O.J. Mayo scored 13 for the Mavericks, who have won four of five. Dirk Nowitzki and Mike James each scored 12 for Dallas, which got 54 points from its reserves.

Arron Afflalo poured in 21 points to pace the Magic. Rookie Moe Harkless collected 20 points and eight rebounds and Nikola Vucevic added 16 points and 13 boards for Orlando.

A night after giving up 37 points in the first quarter of a home loss to Charlotte, the Magic surrendered 42 in the first quarter and trailed by 12. They cut the deficit to 59-53 at halftime and took the lead in the third before Carter's 3-pointer with 29 seconds left in the period put the Mavericks ahead for good.

Dallas scored the first five points of the final quarter and used a 17-0 run to put it away. The Magic went more than five minutes without scoring during the pivotal stretch.
