Wizards 98, Clippers 90: Martell Webster scored 21 points as host Washington held on to defeat undermanned Los Angeles.

Webster's five 3-pointers paced a balanced attack as the Wizards halted a four-game losing skid. Garrett Temple and Nene had 15 points apiece, John Wall added 13 and Trevor Ariza scored 10 in a reserve role.

Jamal Crawford's 28 points led the Clippers, who were without starting point guard Chris Paul (knee) and power forward Blake Griffin (hamstring). Eric Bledsoe scored 17 points and DeAndre Jordan pulled down a career-high 22 rebounds in defeat.

Armed with a 51-46 lead at the half, the Wizards extended it to double digits on a Webster 3-pointer from the left elbow 1:33 into the third quarter. The Clippers stormed back to take the lead on a Bledsoe 16-footer with 5:22 remaining in the period, but they made just two field goals the rest of the way as Washington carried a 72-66 advantage into the fourth.

The Clippers stayed within a possession for most of the final period, but the Wizards used an 11-2 spurt just past the midway point of the quarter to pull away for good. Ariza hit a 3-pointer with 4:28 remaining, Temple added a 17-footer following a Crawford turnover and Wall hit back-to-back shots to put the game away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Paul, who has missed 11 of the last 13 games, did some light shooting during the Los Angeles shootaround earlier Monday and is considered day-to-day. ... Griffin's late scratch ends his consecutive games played streak at 197. ... The Clippers committed 20 turnovers leading to 24 Washington points.
