Rockets 100, Hornets 82: James Harden led all scorers with 30 points as Houston overcame a turnover-laden performance to defeat host New Orleans.

Harden shot 8-for-15 from the field while adding eight assists for the Rockets, who won for just the second time in the last 10 games. Patrick Patterson racked up 18 points and 13 rebounds while Jeremy Lin added 13 points, eight assists and six steals.

Eric Gordon's 20 points led the Hornets, who couldn't take advantage of Houston's 22 turnovers - including eight by Harden. Ryan Anderson had 19 points while Al-Farouq Aminu chipped in with 11.

Armed with a 48-40 halftime lead, the Rockets wasted no time building on it in the third quarter. Harden poured in seven straight points during a 52-second span prior to the midway point of the period, and Marcus Morris and Toney Douglas added back-to-back 3-pointers as Houston went into the fourth with an 80-65 edge.

The beginning of the quarter saw a dreadful display of offense on both sides, as the teams went nearly four minutes without a point leading up to the halfway point of the period. Anderson converted a three-point play to make it a 10-point game with 3:39 remaining, but Harden answered with a short jumper, drawing a foul and making the ensuing free throw to put the game away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The four-minute scoreless stretch saw the teams combine to miss nine shots and commit four turnovers. ... New Orleans PG Greivis Vasquez was limited to two points on 1-of-6 shooting. ... The Hornets shot just 3-for-20 from 3-point range.
