Pistons 103, Kings 97:
Brandon Knight scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures and Greg Monroe added 18 and 11 rebounds as Detroit held off visiting Sacramento to extend its winning streak to a season-high three games.

Will Bynum scored 15 points and fellow reserve Austin Daye added 13 for the Pistons, who have won five of six overall and four straight at home.

DeMarcus Cousins had 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Kings, who have lost seven straight on the road and are 1-13 away from home. Jason Thompson added 16 points.

Sacramento trailed by as many as 16 before charging back to make it interesting down the stretch. Jimmer Fredette scored 13 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter to help the Kings get within 96-95, but they couldn't get the go-ahead bucket, and Detroit closed it out at the foul line and on Daye's 3-pointer with 11 seconds left.

The Kings raced out to an early eight-point lead and held a 28-27 advantage after one quarter, but Detroit opened the second with a 13-3 run to take control. The Pistons led 58-48 at halftime and didn't let the lead dip into single digits until midway through the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Detroit's Charlie Villanueva was ejected just before halftime after being charged with a flagrant 2 for a high, hard foul on Isaiah Thomas. … The Kings were shorthanded in the backcourt without Tyreke Evans (knee) and Marcus Thornton (ankle). Evans has missed eight straight games. … Detroit G Rodney Stuckey missed a third straight game with a sprained left ankle. The Pistons used just a nine-man rotation and were down to eight when Villanueva was ejected.
