Nuggets 99, Grizzlies 94:
Andre Iguodala collected 20 points, seven assists and five steals as host Denver held off Memphis.

Andre Miller scored 18 off the bench, Danilo Gallinari added 14 and Ty Lawson chipped in 13 for the Nuggets, who improved to 6-1 at home.

Rudy Gay scored 21 points and Mike Conley added 14 but Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol were held to a combined 20 on 7-for-22 shooting as the Grizzlies dropped their third straight game.

It was tied up at 87-87 after Gay scored in transition but Memphis would go the next 2:02 without a field goal. Gallinari gave Denver the lead with a pair of free throws and Lawson followed with two at the line before Iguodala scored on back-to-back possessions to make it a 95-89 gap with 1:32 left.

Gasol’s three-point play chopped it to 95-94 with 53 seconds remaining, but Memphis missed a chance to take the lead when Lawson stole the ball from Gay with 11 seconds left. Miller hit four free throws in the final 10.2 seconds to seal it.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Grizzlies dropped to 2-4 in December after coming into the month with a 12-2 mark. … JaVale McGee and Kosta Koufos combined to block eight shots for Denver. … The Nuggets were playing just their seventh home game against 17 on the road. They were making just a one-game pit stop at home and will not play back-to-back contests in Denver until Jan. 1-3 - over a month after the last back-to-back home set.
