Warriors 96, Timberwolves 85:
Klay Thompson scored a season-high 24 points and backcourt mate Stephen Curry added 20 as host Golden State handed Minnesota its fifth straight loss.

Carl Landry had 18 points and nine rebounds while David Lee scored 17 points as the Warriors upended the Timberwolves for the 10th time in the last 12 meetings.

Nikola Pekovic scored 17 points and Kevin Love had 15 and 15 rebounds for Minnesota, which lost to Golden State for the second time in nine nights.

Curry connected on five 3-pointers, including one that capped a string of 12 straight points during Golden State’s decisive fourth-quarter flurry.

The Timberwolves led 74-70 entering the final period and had a five-point advantage after Dante Cunningham’s basket with 10:19 left. Golden State’s Draymond Green responded with back-to-back baskets as the Warriors reeled off 12 consecutive points as part of a 19-2 run that created a 93-81 lead with 2:50 left.

Minnesota had a 35-24 advantage midway through the second quarter after a basket by Cunningham. The Warriors pulled within 39-38 before finally knotting the score at 45 on Curry’s 3-pointer with 1:07 left in the half.

The Timberwolves led 51-47 at halftime and started strong in the second half, taking a 62-55 lead on Love’s 3-pointer with 6:54 left in the third quarter. Golden State used an 11-4 run to tie the contest on Lee’s basket with 2:25 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Warriors forward Richard Jefferson (calf) missed his fourth consecutive contest. … Love has recorded double-doubles in all three games since returning from a broken hand. … Lee fell two rebounds shy of his seventh straight double-double. … The Timberwolves shot just 38.4 percent from the field, including a woeful 5-of-27 from 3-point range.
