Lakers 101, Warriors 77: Kobe Bryant poured in 27 points and came close to a triple-double as Los Angeles routed visiting Golden State hours after firing coach Mike Brown.

The Lakers (2-4) dismissed Brown after the team got off to a 1-4 start, its worst since the 1993-94 season. Assistant Bernie Bickerstaff was named the interim coach, and oversaw Los Angeles holding Golden State to season lows in scoring and shooting percentage while five Lakers scored in double digits.

Bryant led the way, also amassing nine rebounds and seven assists. Pau Gasol posted 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, bouncing back from a meek five-point effort in Wednesday's loss at Utah.

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson led the Warriors (3-3) with 18 and 15 points, respectively, but each missed 10 shots from the field as Golden State shot 33.7 percent as a team. David Lee had his second straight double-double - 10 points and 12 boards - but went just 3-of-10 from the floor.

The Lakers dominated the boards, outrebounding Golden State by a 58-47 margin. The Warriors were playing without starting center Andrew Bogut, out for at least 7-10 days to rest his surgically repaired ankle. Rookie Festus Ezeli started at center in place of Bogut.

In a pregame meeting with the media, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak would be "negligent" if they didn't contact former coach Phil Jackson as part of the search to replace Brown. Mike D'Antoni and Nate McMillan also have been mentioned as potential candidates for the coaching vacancy. The Staples Center crowd gave its vote, chanting "We Want Phil!" multiple times in the second half.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lakers F Devin Ebanks was inactive after a morning arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. ... Warriors F Carl Landry, who came in averaging 17.0 points off the bench, went 3-of-12 en route to six points but did snag 11 rebounds. ...
