Kobe Bryant scored 37 points and Andrew Bynum continued his monster start with 21 points and 22 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers handed the visiting Houston Rockets a 108-99 loss Tuesday night.

Bryant was 14 of 29, had eight rebounds, six assists and one turnover. Bynum also blocked three shots but had four turnovers.

Pau Gasol had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Houston's Kyle Lowry almost had a triple-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Luis Scola scored 20 points. Chase Budinger scored 16 and Kevin Martin 12.

Bryant helped the Lakers pull away, scoring nine points down the stretch.

Budinger helped the Rockets keep pace with three 3-pointers in the third quarter and the Lakers continued to turn the ball over. But in the end it was too much Bryant and too much Bynum as the Rockets lost to the Lakers for the fourth straight time at Staples Center, and the 10th time in 12 overall meetings.

Lakers reserve forward Josh McRoberts (sprained toe) sat out.
